Alaska King Salmon Fishing Trip

Vic and I made it back to Alaska for this years King Salmon run. Take a look at some of the pictures from our fun trip.

And yes that is a bear print next to my boot (shoe size 11). Actually, we had a lot of bear activity. Every night, we had a bear visit the camp which rummaged rough buckets looking for salmon eggs less then 15 feet from our tents. It was hard to sleep and with my nerves - I ended up not sleeping much for the first part of the week until Stan gave me some ear plugs...i put the plugs when I went to bed and just just decided, if it's my time - i wouldn't be able to hear him ripping through my tent. I lived through it and am looking forward to the next trip.

Enjoy!

Mia Paige and her Dance Costume

Her's Mia doing a dry run of her new costume that she'll be wearing for a dance recital. More pictures to come of the actual event. BTW - does should look a little concerned about this puffy outfit? I think her Mom is more concerned about the overdone costume at age 2.5.

Painters Present for Mia

After a week of tormenting (Mia had a little problem with all the furniture moved, stacked and the house in a shambles - pretty much cried the week the painters were onsite), our interior painter and his wife brought Mia a few home made gifts. What a beautiful cake and thoughtful gift.

As you can tell, she love it. Dora the Explorer is so much fun!

Cleanest Floors Around!

I am sure Vic and Rosie can support me on this point, Mia probably didn’t learn this trait up from her mother since Debbie wouldn’t even know which end of the vacuum goes into the wall.

Getting back to Mia and the picture, we love her new hobby (I have to teach her a hard days work you know…. and since there is no brush to clear or fire wood to stack – can’t guarantee there isn’t a rattlesnake present…we’re teaching her how to clean)...and we now have the cleanest floors around.

Oh, Mia also had to track down the Daddy’s headlamp to make sure she could see the dirt on the floor!

Go Ethan, Go!

While visiting my mothers house in Lowell, I am always looking for a house maintenance project to keep busy. This year the project was repairing sink drains and replacing toilet seats. My nephew Ethan jump right in and helped Uncle Matt, and after two trips to the hardware store and a few attempts to buy the correct size seat, Ethan was able to install the toilet seat by himself. I was so proud of him, I wanted to get a picture of him next to his fine work!

Great job Ethan!

Mia Birthday Party - turning two

Mia turned two on November 9 and as expected, Debbie threw a party that any 2 year old would enjoy. Petting zoo and all.

Leah, Vic, Rosie, Audrey and Wyatt all made it out for the weekend and big party. The entire month of November Mia practiced the happy birthday song and she was able to make it through most of it by her birthday.

Oh yeah, another significant thing happened when she turned two...she started to climb out of her crib...ALL THE TIME. Good bye to 1 hour long bed time routine.

Here are some pictures from her birthday and party.
